GIVEAWAY WINNERS!

So last week I posted a challenge on my Instagram and Facebook page that if you sent me a selfie of yourself with your favorite lip color you would be entered into my Lipstick Giveaway. Look at all these beautiful girls above that entered! When I got my first entry, I started jumping up and down! I couldn't believe you all participated! It made my heart so happy!
The whole point behind this wasn't to force people into taking selfies (though that was kind of fun too) , it was to encourage everyone to have confidence to rock a lip color if they want to!
It was so fun watching the week go by and see more and more of you send entries.
I know that not everyone wants to wear purple lips like me, but one of the main things I want to accomplish in my blog posts is to inspire you to bring style, or beauty into YOUR lifestyle. No matter what that looks like. If that is just a light gloss for work, or with your kids all day, THAT'S OK! That is what fits your lifestyle. I'm lucky enough to live in a city where people don't stare at you if you have blue hair, or rock a bright lilac lipstick. So sometimes I try things that are a little out there.
Also.. don't get me wrong.. i LOVE a good nude lip. :)

Have you ever been part of a giveaway where EVERYONE wins!? I haven't either but this one EVERYONE WINS! :)

I feel a little bit like Oprah, or like when you are in little league and everyone gets a trophy.
But I was so inspired by all of you and your courage to post, that i wanted to reward all of you.
Thank you for reading this blog and supporting my ideas :).

If you are in the picture above, or i tagged you on Instagram, please email me at kaitlawson89@gmail.com with your address, and you will receive some goodies soon! :)

How to.... Rock a bright Lip

My least favorite thing I hear from women is.. "I can't pull that off!"

Let me tell you something... YOU CAN!! You can pull off whatever you want! I get that there are limitations on skin tones, or maybe what colors look good with your coloring. BUT.... in a general sense... if you want to rock a bright purple lip, DO IT! Maybe something more realistic is if you have been eyeing that bright red lipstick on your vanity and are too afraid to pull it out. Well this week, I'm challenging you to be BRAVE!

Try something different! People admire other confident people. So be that confident woman and rock the bright lip!

If you asked me a year or so ago to wear a bright purple lip I would have probably laughed in your face.

My girlfriend Abigail works at Nordstrom in the Cosmetics department and typically helps me with all my shopping. She has helped me venture out a bit in my makeup selections.

One day I was eyeing all these beautiful lilac lipsticks, and kept thinking " I wish I could pull that off!".

It took Abs saying " YOU CAN!", for me to pull it off the shelf and give it a whirl. I tried it on and fell in love with the color!

Now I feel like I am not as afraid to try new colors, wear something bright, or even abnormally dark.
It just took one person telling me that I CAN pull it off to try something new.

I truly believe that confidence completes every outfit.

What lip color have you been wanting to try out, but have been afraid of what others would think if you did??

Your challenge this week is to WEAR IT! Let's be confident in our choices. It honestly doesn't matter what other people think! The people I admire most in life are people that take risks, and aren't afraid to be confident in there own skin! Even if that is a nude lipstick or a gloss for you,  whip that puppy out this week.

If you do, tag me in a picture so we can join in it together!!

I will be entering all the tagged pictures into a giveaway and will announce the winner next Friday, at 12PM CST. So don't forget to tag me! I'll be giving away some of my favorite lip colors, that I think every girl should have! :)

There is are no special tricks up my sleeve! Pick something that makes you happy, and commit to it! You won't regret it!

And THAT is how you rock a bright lip. :)

 Kait

Beauty Favorites of 2014

Hey Everyone!

I asked you on Instagram if you would want to see my beauty favorites of 2014, and a few of you said yes! :) I was going to film a video about this, and I tried but I forgot to talk about bronzer! I wish I had the emjoi with the monkey covering his eyes. Over the past 3 years I have become obsessed with trying new products and seeing what truly is the best products out there. After TONS of research, and testing them out myself... I bring you my holy grail products!

I will bold each category for you so you can just read up on the products you are most interested. Let's get started!

1. NARS Bronzer: in Laguna - $38
I have used this bronzer for years now. The best thing about it is, it's not chalky and has the best amount of bronze & redness. AND its not ORANGE! Being a very fair skinned lady, it's hard to find the right mix of bronzer to compliment your skin tone. So this has worked wonders for me. I always go back to it. Also this bronzer lasts for a good 6 months. It's totally worth the splurge!

2.  Benefit blush: in Coralista - $28
So I have to say typically I'm not a girl that's all about blush, and for my fair skin, I tend to cling more toward peaches and corals. It feels less harsh than a bright pink, and gives a nice flush. You can tell I used this blush consistently because I have hit pan on it, and quickly! Also this blush is scented and smells amaze balls.

3. Urban Decay :  NAKED 3 Palette - $54
So narrowing this down to one palette was so hard for me, because I am a palette junky.
This palette is made up only of rose gold shades. There are a good mix of shimmers and mattes so you can make a lot of looks out of this. You have a few good highlight shades as well. Everywhere I traveled this year, this palette came with which obviously showed its versatility.

4. Lancome Grandiose Mascara: Black - $32
If you have been my friend for a long time you are probably shocked that I'm talking about any other mascara then the Maybelline yellow & purple tube mascara I have used since I was 16. This year I finally branched out. The drugstore mascara I had used for years would flake under my eye area after a few hours and that would always drive me nuts. This wand is curved very dramatically and has a very brissley brush so it makes getting to your small inner lashes way easier to access. It also gives you great volume AND length.

5. Lancome Hypnose Mascara: Black - $27.50
Again kind of shocking that I'm recommending a different mascara, but this is another great basic to have in your repertoire. It gives you amazing volume, and is just a great basic.

6. Anastasia Brow Whiz: Onyx - $21
LITERALLY - If you have eyebrows you need this product! It has a very small fine point on one end, and a spooly on the other. So you can fill in your sparse areas and then brush it out if its gets dark. I have used this now for 2 years and am obsessed.

7. MAC Mineralize Skin Finish: in Soft & Gentle- $32
I got this 3 years ago, and looks like I have hardly even used it. I sweep this right on top of the cheekbones over my blush, down the bridge of my nose, and a little bit on my temples. This will last you FOREVER and is so worth it.

8. NARS Audacious Lipstick: in Anita - $32
I'm usually not into a nude lip, but when I discovered this lipstick it changed everything. Its a pinky nude, subtle enough to give you color - but nude enough to not have to worry about re-applying with a mirror. Its matte but has some shine to it... its literally Magical. It is a great everyday color! Any skintone can wear this.

9. NARS Creamy Concealer: $29
This concealer is everything! It highlights AND covers dark circles. I have never tried anything like it. A lot of under eye concealers have a tendency to look cakey but this  definitely does not. Now that is a win in my book!

10. Urban Decay Primer Potion: $20
This is a no-brainer. You dab a bit of this on your eyelids and you will have smudge proof eyeshadow all day long. Simple as that!

11. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation: $45
I have never felt more radiant then when I wear this foundation. It evens out my skin tone, covers blemishes, and gives great coverage. I love dewey looking foundations, and this is just that. This foundation has a ton of hype around it and its worth the hype!

12. Topshop Lipstick: in Rio Rio - $16
I got this when I was in Chicago for my anniversary and was so glad I did. This is the perfect bright Taylor Swift red, and has amazing color payoff.

13. Lancome Art Liner: in Black: $30.50
So i've been rocking the winged liner since early High school, and this liquid liner is the bomb. I have tried about every one out there, and this one gives extreme control, lasts all day, and does NOT smudge. I don't know if I will every try any other liquid liners. This one is a lifer :).

That's it folks!

Comment below and let me know what your holy grail products were of 2014! I love hearing what other women use, and love learning about new products to try out!

Thanks for reading. It truly means the world! :)

Until Next time,

Winter Whites - Collab with JacquiRose

OUTFIT DEEDS:
Top: haute Hippie, Jeans: Kut from the Kloth, Jacket: VEDA leather, Boots: Kate Spade, Hat: Forever 21, Accessories: Poor Sparrow, & Forever 21

Well hello party people! First of all, can we talk about the fact that I've been out of internet for a week, and just got it back. I could literally cry for joy. Anyways, today's style post is a "how to" if you will, and I have linked up with a dear friend to show you two different ways to style white jeans in the winter.
For those of you that follow the "fashion rules" (no white after labor day or before easter) I'm telling you throw them out the window. Unless of course you are wearing socks with sandals, or gym shoes with jeans... Y'all listen to me when i say ... just DON'T!
I believe you make your OWN fashion rules. If you want to wear white in January... do it! It's on trend, and very chic!

First things first.... White Pants. Not all white pants are equal gals. You need to find a shape and style that works for your body type. For me, I went with a straight leg, but not completely tapered. Why? 'Cause girlfriend's got some curves. I'm not saying its bad to have curves, but white pants are tricky. If you want them to be flattering make sure they fit well. Second tip would be to make sure the fabric is thick and not see through. It won't show underwear lines and will make you feel more confident.

So back to the outfit itself, my choice was to pair it with darks, to contrast the white, and still give it a wintery vibe. The booty also helps with that! I wore the hat mainly because i've been working from a cold coffee shop  porch all week to bum off there internet, so its keeping my head warm, but also very on trend. :) FUNCTIONAL FASHION! Ugh.. don't ya just love it?

Lastly, let's just talk about how Southern I just became with this new porch. In case you haven't seen on social media, me and my husband moved into a new house with TWO new dreamy porches. I have spent so much time out here reflecting, having my quiet time, and just enjoying this beautiful weather.

So now to Miss Jacqui. I met Jacqui my Sophmore year of college, and she was a Freshman in High School. I did High school ministry for a long time and she was in my very first small group. She is the definition of sweet. I always felt like we connected right away, and loved hearing what was on her heart. We definitely have  always had clothes in common, and its so fun to see her style develop. I have LOVED reading her blog and am a big fan of her personal style. Girlfriend can pull off just about anything. :)
Hop on over to sweet Jacqui's page to see what she has to say about her winter whites, and see how she styled them. She has such fun style! And subscribe to her on Instagram to keep up with her blog as well! :)

Happy New Year!

First outfit post of 2015! Woo! Is it weird to say I felt so accomplished to get dressed this morning? After spending the last 3 days in sweats, and work out clothes getting dressed felt good! Really quick before i dive into this outfit lets talk about body shape.
I know that I am not your typical size 2-4, and GIRLS GOT CURVES!
For a long time I really struggled with my curves. I always thought that it would be easier to shop if i had less of this or less of that. Some time last year, i decided to go through a self love movement. I wanted to be less hard on myself, and embrace what I have. Because someone else is already done, I want to be original.
So instead, i am learning how to dress my body for my curves. I have to accept that there are certain things that won't fit my body shape and that's ok.
For example… girlfriend's gotta buy things with stretch! ha!
I find that a skinny pant, paired with a longer top flatters my figure more than short shirts that hit right at the waist line. Not ALL flowy tops are equal though, and we can get into that more later.
But all that to say, lets embrace who we are in 2015! Love your curves, your curly hair, your crooked teeth or whatever it is! I love being around people who exude confidence. There's just something about it that feels so tangible, and makes you want to be a part of that.

Lastly, my top and hat are both from Vinnie Louise. Its an extremely affordable local boutique here in Nashville.. but fear not… she has an online shop as well! Bascially my whole wardrobe is slowly turning into a Vinnie louise store. haha! Its extremely affordable, and very fashion forward!
