Valentines came a little early

As long as me and phil have been dating we have never actually spent a Valentine's day together. Phil has been on the road pretty much every year, so we always try to find a different day/weekend to celebrate. This year we just chose the day before. I wanted a little bit more casual look this year, instead of trying to find a dress, i thought an over sized sweater paired with a bright heel would be fun!

also LOVE this Mac lip color "Candy Yum Yum" for a fun pop'o'color. :)

I can say I am definitely thankful for a day that I can show Phil how much I love him.

Whats so complicated about a maxi?!

My favorite episode of Rachel Zoe is when her assistant was in a meeting with the buyer's from Nordstrom and they didn't pick up any of the maxi pieces from their Spring Collection. All of Rachel's employees were terrified to tell her. When they broke the news Rachel Zoe's response was something along the lines with "What's so complicated about a maxi! someone please tell me! i wear them everyday". Which she totally does, and makes them look fab.
I think there is something so effortless about a maxi, and helps when your feeling not so thin. Its like smoke and mirrors, it hides a multitude of sins. And its so easy to dress up.
I also LOVE the look of throwing a sweater over a maxi, or tying a long shirt over it. Very chic and cozy. I'm having dinner with one of my dearest friends Brittney, who has incredible style. We catch up and dish about all our favorite trends, and latest beauty finds.

Vivid Orchid

So i believe the Pantone color of the year is a shade of Orchid. I am all about this color! i love the nail polishes that are coming out, but especially the lip colors!
I was at Nordstrom this weekend, and my friend Abigail convinced me that I can pull this color off. So you guys have to tell me if you agree.
I had a little spending money this weekend from an award I won at work so I picked up a few cozy sweaters. I was telling everyone last night, i feel like a big cozy couch in this sweater.
Every sweater i bought had some type of word or saying on it. I guess I'm really into the graphics lately. But the key is if you are wearing something oversized or baggy on top, you want to balance it out, and wear something tailored or "skinny" on the bottom.

Beauty Moment: 

I tried to keep my eyes more neutral with just a nice light pinky shade from the Naked 3 pallette, and on the lips is obviously my new purple shade which is Mac's "Heroine" 

I think that Matte lips are really pretty for Winter/cold weather, but you could add a gloss to this as well. i Just prefer matte lips. As you can tell as well, i went pretty neutral on my blush so that all the focus was on my lips.

How i do the Superbowl

I always struggle to find a balance between comfortable and still fashionable. Is there such a thing? 

The weather was so gross today all i wanted to do was wear something that resembled a blanket. I think i got pretty close here. ha. This is my FAVORITE shirt, probably ever. Its cozy, comfortable and cream. I love a good neutral shirt i can pair with anything. 

                                            So this is when my neighbors drove by and honked at me while i was taking outfit pictures. #kindofembarrassing #alsohilarious

Beauty moment: 

If you want to wear lipstick but are afraid of color, you need to find a "my lips but better shade".  This gives your lips a little Sheen, but is still incredibly neutral. I pair a neutral lip typically for everyday, or when i've gone a little darker with my eyes. 

One of my favorite neutrals is this NARS Satin lip pencil in "Rikugien"

Cant go wrong with a gorgeous nude.

Finding Inspiration

When I'm dreaming up new outfits, I typically browse pinterest or my favorite bloggers. I go through their most recent posts and see what sparks my interest. Its no secret that my favorite fashion blogger is Kendi from Kendieveryday. I saw this outfit of hers this past weekend and I said... "hey! i have almost that same exact jacket, and dress.." So i guess instead of finding inspiration, i just straight up copied.... ha! Call it what you may.. but here is my Re-creation of Miss Kendi's outfit.

Face of the day: 

Lately I have been OBSESSED with the Naked 3 Pallette. It's all i reach for. I know call me cliche. But theres a reason why this pallette is so popular. I honestly don't own a pink thing in my whole closet, so that fact that Im attracted to pink lipsticks, and pink toned eyeshadows surprised me. 

No matter what combination of shadows i use in this pallette, I end up LOVING the result. 

Also, I recently picked up The Rimmel "Show Off" lip lacquers in 2 colors, and since i would literally buy every color. They are incredibly so creamy, and the color pay off is INCREDIBLE.

Lastly, this Handcream is ESSENTIAL in this dry cold weather. also, it smells amazing, and thats very important to me. AND its not greasy! Win Win!
